IDEATION: THE UNPRECEDENTED
CRISIS TODAY
Dr Sudhansu Kumar Dash
Ideation is the crisis of an
exceptional character. There have been crisis of various types in different
periods throughout history: social, national, political, etc.The crisis come
and go get modified or continue in a different form but the present crisis is
different because in this crisis we are not dealing not with money but with ideas.
The quarrel is between ideas and justifying the ideas. The idea of murder is
justified, the idea of exploitation is justified, the idea of war is justified
and the idea of injustice is justified as justice .At least before, evil was
recognized as evil and murder was recognized to be murder but now murder as a
means to a righteous end to achieve a noble result. The murderer justifies it
as a means of achieving a result which will be beneficial to man that is justifying
to sacrifice the present for the future. It does not matter what means we utilizes
long as our declared pseudo purpose is to produce a result which we say to be
beneficial to man. The implication is that a wrong means will produce a right
end and we justify the wrong means through ideation. The crisis those have
taken place before are the issues of exploitation of things or of man but it is
now the exploitation of ideas which much more dangerous because exploitation of
ideas is more devastating and destroying than any sophisticated destructive
weapon. We have learned meticulously now the use of the power of propaganda and
that is one of the greatest calamities that can happen to use our ideas as a
means to transform man. Now man is not important, but the system and ideas have
become important. Man has lost his significance and the idea has become
significant. We can destroy millions of men as long as we produce the result
and the result is justified by ideas. War is intellectually justified as a
means of bringing peace and the unprecedented crisis is brought when the
intellect has the upper hand over human life.
The other cause to lead to the
unprecedented crisis is the extraordinary importance man giving to sensate values
that is to a sect, name or country. Things made by hand or by mind have become
so important that we are killing, destroying, butchering liquidating each other
and also rationalizing them because of being caught in a sensate value. We are
nearing the edge of a precipice, dragging us into a chaotic and confusing
abyss.
To step out of the crisis needs
an action which is not based on idea, on system because any action based on a
system or idea will invariably lead to
frustration .The freedom from the crisis needs the regeneration of the individual
instantaneously ,not a process of time, because tomorrow is a process of
disintegration.
